    Need a new boat net

After 20 plus years it is time to buy a new net. Is there one that most prefer over the others? I wish my net was never in the way or never had something on it when i need it, but is always readily available. (wishful thinking)

Any suggestions or advice appreciated. I typically fish for Bass/Crappie from a boat

Depends upon if you want a net for you or one better suited for the fish, and their survival.one best suited for them is not always say crank bait friendly. But a good read is at http://outdoorfrontiers.com/blog/nets-knotty-question/

I like the rubber nets. Very nice not having to mess with getting hooks out of nets, or getting the net hung on something in the boat. Some don't like the resistance when moving the net through the water, but you shouldn't be chasing the fish anyway. They are shallow, but I've never had a fish flop back out of the rubber net in the 15+ years or so I've been using one. They're more fish friendly also.

I had an old Bass Pro Shops Stalker rubberised net & used it for everything. It worked excellent on Striper too.

Re: Need a new boat net

Funny you ask. I just sent Dave a PM earlier today asking about a net. When I worked at Fisherman's Headquarters, we had line of nets there that were not rubber, but coated with something extremely durable. They were not stiff like rubber, almost like traditional nets and just as deep, but you could not pull a hook through them, and you could drop a lucky craft in there with three trebles and it would not get tangled. They were pricey, but seemed worth every penny. I just cant remember who made them, or I would be ordering one.
