I work at Paris Landing Park, and we received a message this afternoon that the Coast Guard has closed the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers, including Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley due to the high water and current flow. Projected lake level is 369.7 by late tomorrow.

As far as lake conditions go; the lake is EXTREMELY muddy and EXTREMELY dangerous to travel. I only go 44 mph tops and I was dodging trees left and right on the main lake channel. Reportedly, the CG has found cow carcasses floating and 40 ft. telephone poles floating. The creeks/bays weren't dangerous from what I saw, but the CG guys said that both lakes are a restricted area for recreational boaters. I hate this as much as everyone else, but just figured I would pass on all of the info I have.
