Has anyone fished the upper Cumberland River from Laural lake dam down? Heard about some good walleye looking for info?
their are some good walleye fishing, from where laurel lake runoff enters the cumberland lake. back down stream, but most everyone fishes for the walleye from where laurel empties into cumberland, back upstream where the water gets swift. but be careful if you go their to fish, that place has big rocks every where just under the surface. hope this helps.![]()
Is that the rockcastle river your asking about? never fished it , but it's got some of the best white water action in ky. for kayaking.
I think where Laurel empties into the Cumberland River is, or was Noe's Dock. And if you go up the cumberland it gets really rocky and if there's any color to the water that makes it worse. On the other hand there is some great walleye fishing up there. There are usually boats on top of boats, but most are catching fish. If you go down river, quite a long way, you will come to London Dock, thats where the Cumberland meets the Rockcastle and from there to lake Cumberland.
