EWG, Straight Shank, or Offset?

What are the advantages/disadvantages to each of these types of hooks? I use mainly Offset Shank hooks for my pitching/flipping of soft plastics...under what circumstances should I use EWG's over offset/straight and vice versa??

I like the EWG's for everything. I know people who use different ones for different plastics but not me. The only time I use anything different is when I'm flipping thick grass mats (Florida mostly) and then I use a big straight shank (Owner). It helps because the grass/slime doesn't grab the offset at the top so it slides better.
EWG's are the best for tubes. JMO.....

I am with DJD... EWG will work for almost anything... This is hwo i look at it... EWG is a must for thinker baits, but with the exception of thick mossy grass, it has no drawbacks... so thats what i use for everything.

I use EWG for just about everything, just adjust for bait size...

EWG for thick plastics (tubes, beavers, creatures, etc.) and straight shank for worms, brush hogs, and other "thinner" plastics. Just my two cents......

I like straight shank for just about everything except when I Carolina Rig and then I use an EWG. I have tried those new tube hooks from Gammy and I like them but have only used them a few times.
