I wouldnt worry about it George. It will never fly. Such a lovely idea for civilians not to get hurt but heck this is WAR! That is part of war. Especially when the terrorists are strapping bombs on women and children so they can get close to soldiers and blow them to kingdom come. If the Military provides good training to their soldiers then they can cover that section of treating civilians nice there. As it stands now, I think all our soldiers are treating the civilians of the countries they are fighting in nicely. I see pics all the time of soldiers both Canadian and American helping citizens, holding children and playing with the kids. I think our countries can be proud of the high caliber of soldiers we have fighting this war.

civilians always get killed in wars, some times by accident, sometimes on purpose. Remember hiroshima? dressden, warsaw, it happens. How can it be avoided, easy WIN and write history. As far as I'm concerned the wars should both be over, we took their names kicked their butts, so why did we stick around? I see it as a bad idea as well. Contrary to some beliefs every military man and woman over there doesn't have a fine tuned understanding of how to deal with deadly force. Putting more doubt into any scenario is gonna get people killed.

Think about it...someone in your squad is a known sissy are you gonna want them around you if they now has some pea brained idea that they should restrain him or herself? Yeah right.

Interesting how the article clearly states that this is a British officer's idea, and the closest any American quoted comes to endorsing is to say "it's under consideration," and "it's consistent with our approach," and yet you call it "Micro-management by this Idiotic administration."
