I haven't fished dewey this year, but I am from P-burg/Pikeville area and I fish Dewey alot. last year the lake stayed so muddy from all the rain the grass never really had a chance to grow. But from what I have heard its cleared up and the grass is back. a tournament a few weeks ago took 18 pounds to win. there are awesome numbers of fish and really good numbers of 2-4 pounders. be prepared to fish the grass though. its post spawn or maybe a few are still spawning but topwater should be about right and senkos are very effective. I assume you are taking a boat and not trying to bank fish. I reccomend ****'s creek its up the lake where it starts to meander and right after you round cypress point (you can't miss it)...it's a very sharp right hand turn as your going up the lake anyway after you go past cypress point dicks creek is on your left and fish that left hand bank of dicks creek and you shouldn't have any problem finding fish. just stay in the grass. The thing I like about Dewey is everywhere there is supposed to be a fish...there is one. Also fish around cypress point, bottom line stay in the grass and you'll put fish in the boat. make sure you fish every downed tree you come to, I like to pitch a cumberland craw jig in the down trees or a green pumpkin shaky head, but there are fish on every downed tree on that lake. Spinnerbaits (white with gold blades), senko's, big worms in junebug & topwaters preferably sammy 100's or spooks in shad colors. Good luck! Report back if you go.
