    Flyers v. Canadiens

So, what do you think, Margie? Incredible playoffs, or what? 8th-seeded Montreal knocks off the #1 team in the league in the first round, now is in the Conference Finals after 2 amazing 7-game series. And now the Flyers are the third team in history to come back from 3-0 in a playoff series and win, PLUS they were down 3-0 in game 7, and came back to win! So now it's the 7th v. 8th seeds in the conference finals. I don't think that's EVER happened, but I don't really know. I know Montreal isn't really your team, but I suspect you're rooting for them, anyway?

oh Bob you kill me haha Thanks for the visual aid. You know Road Toad, when Sid Crosby and Pittsburg beat the Ottawa Senators I figured they would go on and beat the Canadiens too. I mean Crosby is like a young Wayne Gretzsky. I was stunned when Montreal beat them. rah rah rah!! Montrealers were out dancing in the streets drunk as skunks drinking Molsen Canadian beer on Wed night. I was so proud of Montreal for pulling it out of the water like that and beating the Penquins. Well the Montreal Canadiens were my fav team growing up cuz they were my fathers team. Every Sat night at our house at 8pm was Hockey Night in Canada and we watched hockey. Those were the good old days when the Canadiens won the Stanley Cup alot. I really really hope this is the year they can take it back and win it again. Thats great to hear your Flyers are doing well too. I havent really checked with the other teams out west to see who is winning there. You bet I am rooting for the Montreal Canadiens all the way!!!

    Re: Flyers v. Canadiens

Neither of these teams was picked to win. The Flyers had to win their 82nd and last game of the season in a shootout to even get in the playoffs. Now the Flyers are being picked to win this series. Uh, oh.

Hey Gills, how about a friendly bet? If the Flyers win, you change your avatar to #2 on this page http://www.hockeyfanzone.com/showthread.php?t=319 for the rest of the playoffs, and if the Canadiens win, I'll change mine to whatever Canadiens avatar you pick? Of Senators, if you'd rather, since they're your real team.

Thumbs down Re: Flyers v. Canadiens

OMG that was the worst and most painful hockey game to watch in my entire life. Fire the Montreal goalie. ARG!!! ok maybe Montreal was letting the Flyers win cuz they were on home ice and its so great when the fans get all excited and cheering like they were. ok yes that sounds right. Jeepers I cant even buy that. Ok I will put that icon as my avator for the rest of the series. I have faith those frenchies will pull this out of the water from here on in so we can have a good hockey game. I bet your are smiling tonight.

Thanks, but you don't have to do the avatar just yet. I'm sorry I wasn't clear; the bet I was asking for was on the series, not that game. If the Flyers go to the finals, use the Flyers avatar until somebody hoists the cup. If the Habs are in the finals, I'll use one of theirs.

Hey, Halak already got pulled once these playoffs, then came back and was a WALL. Don't count those frenchies out yet!

Oh, and I suppose that in the interest of transparency, I should point out that I'm half French Canadian/Cajun, so using a Canadiens avatar won't be that painful for me

Hey thats cool that you are half French Canadian. Can you speak any french? Its a very hard language and I have taken courses and my X was French Canadian and I still couldnt learn it. So I guess that means you love Canadian beer, poutine and tortierre, beaver tails and maple syrup, eh? Do you find yourself wanting to say eh? alot.

My French is pretty good, but rusty. It's interesting how different Canadian French is from what the Cajuns speak, which is really a patois of French, Spanish, and English. And to me, Parisian French may as well be Russian. Well, I do understand it if it's written, but that accent really throws me. Those people barely move their lips when they speak! I find that quite odd, considering they invented the *******.

I never have got the "eh?" thing, I thought all you Canucks did that .

I've never had beaver tails, but I would kill for a good tortiere. I just wish my grandmother hadn't been too drunk to pass on that recipe . And I've never tasted anything that anybody called "poutine," but I do like brown gravy on my fries!

Hi Road Toad, what a game tonight eh? Your boys did very well and your goalie is just excellent. Now on to Montreal's goalie Talk about having a bad couple of games. I think he is burnt out or something. I was waiting for a big fight tonight as the tension was getting high in the 3rd period. I hope Montreal can get back on track for game 3 on THursday.

The only place to have superior poutine is in Quebec. It is to die for. Just the best thing ever. My MIL made excellent tortierre too. yummy Beaver tails are usually served here on the Rideau Canal during skating season. They are doughy like a donut in the shape of the beaver tail with sugary stuff on it. Too sweet for me. You know I never said EH? when I lived out west for years. I really picked it up since back here. I find the french use it alot. I get teased by my friends out west when I say it. Weird, eh? lol I know what you mean by accents. My X said he would never go to France cuz he could never speak to them. I learnt the Parisian french so the french around here is more slang. Every area has its own dialect so it is hard to understand I find.

    Dear Canadiens,

In response to your question about tonight's game, we're glad to provide this bit of technical assistance.

Yes, the little round black thingie is supposed to go in the 3 sided hoop with the net in it.

We apologize we can't provide much help in how to do that, it comes naturally to us and we've never really had to study it.

Warm regards, and feel free to contact us for further assistance in the future.

    Cheers!
    The Flyers

P.S.: We're glad you had a chance to sample our Phily Cheese Steaks. Might we suggest though, it's best from a sports performance viewpoint to consume them after rather than before playoff games.
