Sportsman's Warehouse - Now Open

I drove by Sportsmen's Warehouse today. The parking lot was full and a sign was on the building saying "NOW OPEN". So, I went in, looked around. the store looks about the same. There are some minor differences, but the fishing gear is all in the same places.

I talked to some employees. They actually opened Wed. May 12th, but didn't have full stock. They have been getting truck loads of merchandise ever since. The store looked fully stocked to me, but an employee in guns said they only had about 75% of the stuff in and only about 50% of the guns. The Grand Re-Opening Event is still scheduled for June 5th-6th.

It's in Lexington. It's in the Hamburg area at the corner of Winchester Road and Sir Barton Way... a couple hundred yards from I-75 & Winchester Rd.

Im with DJD, not worth the drive. They may have a few different items than BP but not even close to the same selection. If you want to go to a good fishing store The Cabin is worth the drive to Kuttawa.

I live 5 min from Sportsmans and would much rather order my stuff from Tacklewarehouse when it comes to fishing. They are much cheaper. However I will go to Sportsmans for hunting gear or camping gear since it is close.

Sportsman's Warehouse is not a bad store at all, but its about 1/2 the size of BassPro. That's still much larger than anything else we have here in Lexington.

I buy 99% of my stuff there but Sportsmans works for the after dinner shoping we do while in Hamburg. Guns, Ammo, Fishing, Camping and stuff to browse through.
