Thanks...the segment was aimed at being informational about prespawn fishing with lizards..not about catching a bunch of big fish.
Fact: I have guided a number of TV shows and seen a number of shows being filmed....most of them want a lot of nice fish, many times it takes them more than one day to get the fish they want for the show...of course when they splice etc the film it looks to you the viewer like they caught them all in the 15 minutes you see of fishing on TV. I have guided shows that we did get a lot of good fish very quickly...sometimes enough for two shows in a few minutes..but it doesn't happen any more often just because you are filming a tv show than it does in the real world.
Tim and I had to plan this trip 9 months out to get our schedules to mesh..so what are the odds you plan a trip lasting a couple of hours 9 months out that everything is gonna come together at that particular point in time...if anyone can figure out how to do that...let me know please as I have another show to guide next month for a cable show on the Sportman's Channel. I would like to have a nice slight breeze, good current and have the big fish decide it is time to eat during the few hours we have that afternoon we are scheduled for filiming please.
I pointed out up front that we were going to be fishing an area that was full of buck bass and just hoping some big fish had moved in there..obviously they had not yet done so...it was my call and I stand by it.
