The Lake Familiarization is a trip which includes the 5 hour class on Eliminating Water (as described by Elwood) and then 3 hours on the water covering whatever area we can where you normally fish on Ky/Barkley looking at many high percentage spots, going over high percentage techniques for different times of the year and doing a little fishing on whatever is the prevailing pattern. This costs the same as all my 8 hour guided trip.

I do teach the "Eliminating Water" class as a stand alone class during the winter, normally in January and February but sometimes do a few in November depending on how bookings and weather looks. The price of the class by itself is 100.00 for one person and 150.00 for two people, I only teach one or two people as I like the one on one instruction..I believe you will get more out of it that way. I will be advertising the classes for this winter starting around mid October in my weekly fishing report and will start taking bookings for the winter classes at that time.

I feel like I'm preaching to the choir a bit here, but i can't recommend Dave's class enough. I don't normally fish KY Lake or Barkley, but most of the class is relevant to almost any water in our region. I learned more in that class than in my previous 35 years on this earth, and I got a 4lber from Guist following Dave's rules. That may not sound like much to you, but you'd have to know how many times we had blanked there prior to meeting Dave. Dave's class removed many of the question marks from fishing. I honestly think it fast forwarded us through 10 years of trial and error.

I thought it was a good Ky Afield show this week and got a kick out of seeing Dave on there. Some of the 'Dave speak' about bass and the reasonings for his rigging methods reminded me of one of our trips. It was a good segment on what is one of my favorite shows. We are all definitely lucky to have a local sportsman's show like that and I was glad to see Dave promoted on it.
I too have taken Dave's class. I have told Dave several times how often I refer to my notes for upcoming tournaments around Kentucky. My brother and I talk fishing quite a bit, and things learned in that class come up frequently.
The two times I have spent $100 and gotten the most out of it - Dave's class and going as a marshall at an Elite Series event. You would not be disappointed at either.
