Thanks for all the insight guys, It looks like once Im ready Ill probably get the 8ft bass prowler at BPS with a 30lb troller.
What are some hidden expenses i can expect? IE License(If applicable) and other things I havent thought about.
Gander here in Evansville has a 8' model as well.
its about 24 bucks, also buy the biggest one u can afford, cover it or store it up side down. there is a small drain hole on the end where the trolling motor goes. if water (rain) gets in there it will wt it down,
used to have a basstracker / bantam 3x and it was a great little boat....as mentioned, cover it or store it up side down....get a good deep cycle battery and charger. be careful if you load it on a concrete ramp as I rubbed a hole in mine over the years. bought a short jet ski trailer which fit is nicely but I did learn the hard way to tie down the chairs to the boat - lost one on the highway and the chair just suffered some road rash.
I liked the way the bantam 3x adjustable seats slid in the racks but were very tight so that it was not easy to tip over. seems to me in some of the other boats the seats just set on top of the boat and may be more likely to tip when you are leaning front or back to lip the hawg.
happy fishing.
Had a Bantam and had a great time with it. Now have a Pelican 10 and like it much better since there are usually two of us in it. Both are good, just see what works best for you. One thing I would advise is get the breaker instead of the inline fuse that comes with them.
