I am not sure about Barkley, but was on Ky all day yesterday, and didn't see much debris or Floaters. That is not to say that you won't see the occassional and still should use caution. But I didn't see hardly any so it has definitely improved, and worth the trip down.
I didn't see hide nor hare of floaters this weekend. Water was dropping from 6in to a foot each day. Caught tons of bass...some were still in the bushes (like right smack dab in the middle) and some were on deep rip rap banks. Caught tons of bucks.I am not sure about Barkley, but was on Ky all day yesterday, and didn't see much debris or Floaters. Yes the brush bite is still good. I caught several out of the brush. One very nice one, and the rest were small to barely keeper size. I caught most of my better fish on the first drops outside of shallow pockets, or on secondary points and creek channels with a carolina rig. So I guess there are still some up shallow, but it they are definitely on the move back to deeper water. If you can find them the bite is good. I had a limit of keepers in an hour and a half. And caught a few more keepers the next several hours yesterday.
