Re: I guess all the money for Global Warming Research has dried up......

MHall, look back through the thread, you're confusing me with roadrunner. No worries, you're not the first.

When I say, "the facts speak for themselves," what I'm basing that statement on is primarily the reports from NASA: http://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/news/20100121/
    and NOAA: http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories...stats_sup.html

If you don't take those as fact, fine. I'm not a meteorologist, so of course I could be wrong. But I believe it. Show me some scientific evidence to the contrary.

Also I must point out that saying that the temperatures are currently going up, and saying that it's cyclical, is not a contradiction at all. In fact, that was my point when I said, "What's absurd is thinking that just because global temperatures are currently moving in a particular direction, they're going to keep moving that way forever." Just because the global temperature is currently on the rise is no reason to think it won't cool back down. It has ALWAYS been cyclical, and to believe that all of a sudden it's not is absurd. So, while the source that Geo quoted is basically just one guy, I think his theory that the world will actually cool somewhat between now and 2030 is plausible, and I'd like to read more about it.

DJD, when you say, "Snow in Florida this past winter usually means it's colder. Winters around here been cold as a well diggers left toe. Sounds like another snapshot piece of data that is being used to support a movement looking for more money," I just have to laugh. Who's the one using "snapshots?" NOAA assesses temperatures two ways, nationally and globally. They don't base their conclusions on "snapshots" of Florida, and the Louisville-Lexington area, as you're doing.

Several times before I've posted that just because it's colder in one area, that doesn't mean that the earth as a whole isn't warming up, and if memory serves, both of you have replied with, "yeah, we know that." Yet here you go using that same argument again.

Someone said on here before that data can be tossed around to support your stance on this topic. Look hard enough and you will find some data to copy and paste to support your stance.

I personally feel it's a wacko, tree hugging, special interest driven topic.

Wonder why they changed the name from Global Warming to Climate Change? Sounds like they had to change the rules in the middle of the game cause people were getting wind of the corruption.
