    Re: Voting on Rod Holders

I'd say any of them, would do the job. myself I have the Driftmaster rod holders they are metal coated in plastic with stainless steel bases and have up and down and side to side adjustments. I like them very well, I've never caught a big blue. but I think the rod holders will handle any thing that I can. I think you can look at them at Driftmaster.com

I have the drift masters now, easier to mount.Anything that sticks up can break, now I need to remember to take them off while docking. The cabelas quick draws are also pretty neat, but again got to remove them while docking.

    Re: Voting on Rod Holders

Bassking got it. The Monsters are about as strong as it gets. if you want the 360 degree adjustment they make a base for that but bring out the wallet cause it ain't cheap. I have 16 drift masters on my boat and love em. A small pain to adjust but not bad and with 16 I never really even need to adjust them. I can find one pointing the way I want it already...lol.

Don't mess with the lil pro driftmasters - you ain't walleye/crappie fishing....

The major diff b/w the Monsters and the Driftmasters is the extra wide gap in the Monsters where you can get large rods out more easily when they're loaded up with a big fish. I think that's a down side a little too because the rod will twist more easily and the reel ends up facing the water (like a spinning set-up) when in normal use. Plus I leave my rods in the 0 degree setting on teh back rod rack when trecking down the lake on plane and like em to be a little snug. I've never lost one doing that.

Steve Douglas, out of Louisville, makes the Monsters and is a good guy. He's also a forum member and has a few other products worth checking out.
