That was a cool story. I would love to fish those waters even in the daytime.

Used to fish those old mill ponds around Valdosta back in the 70's with an old electrican buddy. We would leave Fri. afternoon fish Sat. an early Sun. morning and drive back to Lou. Lot of memories and darn good fishing!

GIANT bass at night on black buzzbaits. There's not much better. I've had big pond bass blast a buzzbait 2 or 3 feet from me as I'm about to pull it out of the water. Talk about stopping your heart.

    Re: 1113 Giant Bass...and Counting

C'mon, private lakes and ponds? I had an oppurtunity to fish a private lake in georgia, it wasprimarily a cat fish farm, and the bass were a side line. Very few invitations were given, and if you wanted to keep your bass, it was pretty expensive.Best I could do were several near seven pounds.I got the invite from my son, who happened to be an exec with a large soft drink company. sure it was fun, but how many common folks can do something like that. It was artificials only for bass. They also let people cat fish for a noninal fee.
