I doubt they'd actually "attack" the person, meaning the fish was trying to eat a human, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone wearing flashy jewelry got bit. Happens all the time in salt water, especially around 'cudas.
My wife, when she was a kid, was swimming in a lake in Michigan and a Northern Pike attacked the loose string from the knot in her bikini top. She was just relaxing in the water, not moving alot. When it hit the string she screamed and jumped. The pike bolted out of there immediately.

That makes sense, the string would act just like an artificial worm.My wife, when she was a kid, was swimming in a lake in Michigan and a Northern Pike attacked the loose string from the knot in her bikini top. Note to self: Never swim with a drawstring hanging out the front of your suit!!
