Minnesota fishing trip June 1

I just wanted to rub it in to you poor slobs I'll leave behind.

Leaving June 1st for 8 days in Minnesota. Will be fishing for bass, walleye, crappie, and of course, Northern Pike.

This will be my third trip to Marcell,MN in as many years.

Great fellow fishermen,good bourbon and excellent fishing.

If there was a "stick my tongue at you emoticon" I'd use it.!!!

You dawg! Of course during the month of June I will spend five days at Ky Lake, a trip on the Elkhorn a day at Green and six days at Lake Champlain....did I mention this was all for work? LOL Just ragging you back Tyme, I have not fished Minnesota in my life, but the Boundary Waters are on my bucket list.

Well you will be rubbing in some stuff, mainly bug repellant, if any of you guys enjoy mosquitos, the second place to find them is Minn. The first, port arthur tx. But thats not all, you may be lucky enough for the black fly hatch, those will make you forget the noseeums quick! but I envy you man, a great place to fish.

Anyhow, enjoy and I will swap stories with you after I get back from Alpena, Michigan where I am going for a week starting June 6th. D-Day!!

I and a buddy will also be fishing for Bass (LM and SM), Pike, Walleye, Drum and anything else that bites a hook. The thing I love about fishing in MI is the many different kinds of fish you can catch using the same lures that I use in KY for Bass. When I am Bass fishing here, 95 percent of the time I will get Bass and an occasional Crappie, Striper or Cat; however, in MI you are apt to catch any of those I just mentioned as well as several others without changing lures. I mostly use Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits and crankbaits and sometimes jigs and other bottom bouncers.

We've started using Paca Toads as surface baits in the weeds. Luv the action we get out of those.

Tyme, I hear you about fun with Toads. One of the lakes we will be fishing, (Fletchers Pond) is full of weedbeds and weed lines with holes of open water in and around the beds/lines. Its a ball to throw a Frog way back in the weeds, let it set for a while then pull it accross the weeds into the open spaces and HOLD ON!! I love fishing a Frog and its too bad there are not many places in KY where you can fish them that way.
