The post on loud music and the guy working at McDonald's reminded me of this story.

A large franchised sandwich shop is the basis of this tale.

The wife and I order our sandwiches and I watch as the worker assembles the ingredients. He is wearing the sanitary gloves but pauses before he adds each topping and fondles the brim of his filthy, grease covered cap that he must have worn when he worked at Jiffy Lube. I just watched and didn't say a word.

When he presents the orders, all wrapped up and ready to go, I ask him, "Why do you wear those sanitary gloves while making a sandwich?" He replied, Oh, thats so we don't get any germs from our hands on your sandwich."

That's when I let loose on him. I told him to get a new pair of gloves on and don't even come close to your hat when you remake these orders. I was watching and waiting for him to touch anything but ingredients while he redid the order. The manager then came out and asked if something was wrong and I explained the problem.

Our new order was filled with him keeping his hands to ingredients only and we got our food order properly and sanitarily filled.
