Thumbs up History made at Slugger Field

Todd Redmond of the Gwinnett Braves just threw the first ever full-game no-hitter at Louisville Slugger Field. Of course, I would rather have seen the Bats win, but barring that, it's cool to see a historic game. This is a guy who's never pitched in the majors, and had never even pitched a shutout before. And I was proud of my fellow Bats fans for the standing ovation we gave him as he was going off the field. I'm kicking myself for not sticking around to get him to autograph my scorecard, but I'm hoping he'll be at the game tomorrow or Sunday and I can get it then.

Sure do! I love that place! For my g/f and me, a perfect summer day is fishing in the morning, Bats game in the evening!

I'm going tonight also. I have season tickets and this is the first game of the year I have really had a chance to attend.

Where are your seats? We're in the middle of 114, just a couple rows down from where they sell the fried balogna sandwiches (I allow myself one a year). I like being under the overhang, keeps us dry when it rains, and out of the blazing sun. Plus the seats around us are almost always empty, which is nice. Only problem is there isn't as much air moving there, so sometimes we end up moving down closer to the field. Being the only couple around to bribe - excuse me, "tip," the usher comes in handy!

Tonight they have the Micholob Craft Beer Happy Hour. As I recall, this isn't a bad deal. I may have to let my Better Half drive, and have a couple!

You aren't far from me. I am in 116 row P. Can't remember exactly what seats but I think they are 5-8. We were going to take the kids tonight but they want to go to their grandparents to go swimming. Taking the wife out for time away from kids which is always nice no matter what we do. Look me up if you want I always like meeting a fellow fishin.com fan. I leave on Tuesday for a week on KY Lake for the Triton Owner Tourn. can't wait!!!

You didn't miss much. They were never in that game. We'll come by and say hi some night. We're in 114, row X, 9 & 10.
