Fisrt off I want to say that it makes me sick to even have to post this, but since many fishin.com members will be traveling this weekend I felt I should warn everyone. I work at a hotel here in Louisville and have had a traveling guest report to me about a scam artist that he ran into while at a gas station off the highway coming to Louisville. It is a younger women carrying on about how she is lost and doesn't have enough money to get home to see her family. She has a map and apparently is quite convincing with tears, whining, and moaping as she was reported to have recieved money from an elderly couple at the gas station, who she concinved to "help" her out. Of course I told the gentleman that maybe she was truly in trouble and needed some help. He smiled and said you know I thought the same thing till my wife and I went across the road to eat and proceeded to watch this woman come into the dining area seeking out anyone who would hear her story. She had already got gas money and directions why would she need to ask anyone else? Clearly she was just trying to find innocent travelers to work for money. After writing down her license plate number and calling the police the dispatcher said all units were busy becasue of the holiday and no one could be sent out to address the situation. So travelers beware, don't give your hard earned money out unless you are sure that it is for a good cause. God Bless and its a shame someone would take advatage of people during the Memorial Day Holiday...It just makes me sick.
