What pool did you fish? Ike or Fryman? Thanks

Well fished from 6AM til noon. I only ended up with 7. Most I talked to only had 2 to 4. It was tough once the sun came up. I caught 5 the first hour I was fishin. Water had some flow to it and was stained pretty good. I had prob 30 bass swipe at my baits on the retrieve to the boat but would only nose it. They were as lazy as I am right now. Creek looked great debris wise. You can pretty much run it with no problems. The bluegills are about to nest as well. I seen tons of em today trolling. I think I may go after em at night next time. The ones I did catch were VERY fat and had poo oozing out of em like they ate all night long.

Thanks for the report. Think I saw you go up sat morning. Any top water action yet.
Note of intersest the local paper reported that Friends of Stoner Creek had the KDFWR shock an area of the creek tressel to waterplant i believe. The findings were "promising" as noted by the GW's with good #'s of bass and bluegill.
Personally I still dont believe its as good as it used to be.
Sorry guys I was in CVG with the fam going to the zoo and Basspro. I fished Ikes and I started my morning on the flat with a buzzbait and only had one grab it. Yeah I started fishing the creek when I was 16, round 12 years ago I guess and it was much better then than it is now. I do miss boating 20-40 bass a day. Seems like a good day for me now is scratching out a limit with around a dozen boated. Last spring I caught two 5 fish limits that would have went around 12-14lbs. This year I have not even caught one over 3lbs. I will prob give it a shot Sat night. I seem to have better luck then.

where is this stoner of which you speak?
It's in Paris and really is only a glimmer of what it use to be. The place has gone down hill for the last few years.
Do you think it is the grass that covers the creek all summer long??? I know it gets very thick.
I don't know but I wonder if pollution could be part of the problem? Tournaments don't help either. I have been fishing a tournament with 20+ boats and have another club fishing one on the same day. That kind of pressure is rough on a small creek.
I think the grass helps as opposed to hinders the bass. It provides cover, protection for the fry and a great place to feed.
Im all for the grass until it covers 100% of the creek an inch thick and blocks out all of the sunlight. Ikes at times is unfishable when the grass gets thick enough to ruin your water pump on your engine. It used to not be like that back in the day. It may be polution from the horse farms as well that are all thru the area and poor spawns from spring floods.
