Well boys and girls it it has been 12 years this May 30th 2010 that my lovely wife and I have been married. Funny how 12 years and not much has changed in that I spent the last 7 months that we dated fighting a hernia repair and staff infection, was admitted to the hospital 2 weeks before we were married and then again 2 weeks after we were married. Had a major surgery on July 31 of 1998, almost 2 months to the date after we were married and pretty much been sick since 2004. But, 26 surgeries in all and we are still married is pretty amazing. I have read studies that show the divorce rate of couples when one of them is going thru multiple surgeries and a long term illness is almost twice as likely as the normal divorce rate. We seem to think that all we have been thru has made our relationship stronger and since we made a committment to each other and to our little boy when we adopted him from Nepal 6 years ago then pretty much we will continue to work togethere thru anything.
For those inquiring and I have not gotten back with them: I was in the hospital for 7 days a week ago with internal bleeding, they don't know where the bleeding is coming from officially but think it is from a lesion in my small intestine. I am on antibiotics now that they think will stop the bleeding but as of today it has not yet. I was given 4 units of blood in the hospital and have to go to the hospital on Thur to get 4 more units of blood to help my blood counts and to help my bone marrow get me caught back up from losing and passing so much blood. Right now my levels are over half of what they should be across the board which is causing dizziness, racing heart, fatigue, light headedness and some other stuff that I am facing along with all the rest. Hoping the medicine they put me on will help me stop bleeding in a couple of days and my bone marrow and the new units of blood will help. Doc said 4 units this coming week and they will check my levels and I may need 4 more units of blood the following week since he is pretty sure my marrow will not get me caught back up as quickly as a person that has not gone thru what I have gone thru. Either way, between my surgeon and my new internal medicine doctor at Uk, I am more confident that ever that if I can be fixed, they will fix me. I have not taken 1 singel narcotic pain pill in over a month and even when I was in the hospital for the 7 days in pain from the bleeding I was offered but DECLINED Dalaudid IV and was EXTREMELY PROUD of myself for doing so. It was a hard decision to make but I told the docs that I did not need it and would deal with the pain, which is what I am doing to this day. If you read nothing else of this post READ THIS: Doctors can and will get you hooked on Narcotic pain medicine if you choose to take the drug. My advice is to really determine is the pain tollerable AND IF SO THEN DON'T TAKE ANY PAIN MEDICINE OF ANY TYPE. The Withdrawals from the narcotic pain meds are horrible: YOUR body WILL MANNIFEST PAIN FOR YOU, you may not have enough pain that will warrant a trip to the hospital to get a prescripition or a shot. This is A TOUGH BATTLE BETWEE 2 PEOPLE - YOU AND YOURSELF. ONE SIDE IS GOING TO SAY YOU HURT HERE HURT THERE HURT OVER THERE AS WELL, blAH BLAH BLAH BLah
The other side that does not think there is a problem and thinks the on
I think that I will develop the Kidney, Liver, Heart, Lung, an Cancer problems as they have told me before I am 50 which only leaves of 7 years but the over acheiving man I am no way it starts in 50 my guess is mid 40's for me.
Husbands and Wifes - Live your lives better, do stuff for each other, kiss each other more often, make time to spend quality time with just the 2 of you at least once a month but twice would be better. Preacher last week said do the best you can with what you got and what you have. WE have been living this all week long and trust me there are a not that we got or have and money is premium to us and will be so for many months to come so we will living what the preacher said every week. It may be a game of Scrabble with the wife, game of basketball with the son in the driveway, a drive out in the country just to see what us out there. We may try and find a farm pond or two in the exit 48 area that would let my wife, son and I fish. 'we would not take any of them out if we caught some and would even clean a few for the landowners if he wanted them for supper.
