[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica][SIZE=2][COLOR=midnightblue]Dale is on fire right now with huge smallies that look like they have not spawned yet.I know they have but they look like frying pans instead of the usual "hollow" smallies.I found them just about everywhere over deep water looking up for big baits.we even got a few doubles and an amazing triple that weighed in at over 15 lbs and broke my net when I tried to lift them out of the water.Over the week end we found temps on the lower end 68 to 70 w/ blue bird skies.I would have liked to get an earlier start on Sunday morn but we had a thick fog til about 7:30 and I've seen far to many bass rigs disappear into thick fog at full throttle w/ out radar.NO smallie is worth dying for.On Sunday the 23rd we were watching a pair of baldies circle and come together over our boat and we heard a loud drag squeal and I stopped it only to hear drag still ripping off another. Another double....30 seconds later another. We had a triple.Amazing, three guys on my platform elbow to elbow w/ solid smallies on.They all eventually arrived at the boat one after another w/ out time to get them from the net. When I landed the third and lifted all three out of the water my net pole creased and folded under the strain of the weight of all three. We had 31 fish on a 7 hour trip Sunday and 47 on saturday from dawn to dusk.far to many to picture here but here are a few including the triple.....tight lines Dave http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May068.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May061.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May055.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May027.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May026.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May042.jpg Here is some pics from the triple basket that weighed in over 15 lbs with a 22 a 21 1/2 and a 19 http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May035.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...10May035-1.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May036.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...10May036-1.jpg http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...2010May041.jpg

That, my friend, is as impressive as I have seen! Very nice catches -- especially the three-bagger! Keep the pics coming -- I always enjoy your posts!![]()
All I can say is WOW !! That is the trip of a lifetime!!
Great story , That one looks a little stiff, the one with the flared gills
Sounds like somebody downed a gallon of Haterade and has developed a severe case of hate poisoning! **** fine work Gentlemen. **** fine.![]()
Hey,thanks everyone for the kind words. Soon they will be headed deep so the window is open for great action...... It's alright Jaybird,I was waiting for that.Anytime you accomplish a once in a life time day of fishing there will always be doubters. When we pulled that 50 inch muskie out of Dale in March the people on muskies first were full of jealousy and hate. The moderators had to remove three quarters of the posts. It was kind of a rude awakening. If you look at the third picture under the triple, you can clearly see three lines coming from my net.If you think I put two fish in the live well still hooked in hopes of a third and if you think i could fake that smile full of excitement I just don't know what to say about that.I'm a fisherman not a politician.Six years ago we doubled up with2 22inchers and as they lay side by side in the net I promised myself that i would never fish w/ out a camera again. It's cool dude....Tight Lines Dave
Those are dang impressive. Congrats.
ALL I am saying is I have caught thousands of smallmouth and never had one lay still in the net in the SAME position very long. Let alone long enough to take three or four pics. and the flared gills in the same position . Flared gills are the sign of a dead fish , next time you have one die in the livewell notice the position of the fish . Slight curl and flared gills .EVEN in the pic the guy is posed in the gills have the same flare.Might be my eyes but don't see any lines coming out of their mouths in the photo I was looking at. (the close up of the net hanging over the side)
Just look at all the photos you can see the difference in the photos . The one with the guy holding the two hogs, pretty healthy. The two photos of singles, the gills are flared 3-4 inches and are the same in every shot. Same with the net photos same posiotion. Also the one with the net over the side there is a good 2-3 feet before the bend ,but in the pic of the three guys and the broke net it is maybe 1 foot from the net ????????
I guess i watch too much CSI Miami lol.
With that said they are still super fish great day on the water !!!!!!!

Okay saw the photo with the line . But where are the lines in the close up of the net between the down riggers and the one that shows a hand in the scene. Those photos looked staged. Was roland martin fishing with you? ha ha dude don't sweat it just ragging you ...
congrats on a great day.....
Thanks for the awesome pics, FishFinderGeneral.
Reading parts of this thread I'm reminded of Twain's famous quote, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."
who cares if its dead or not. them some nice fish right there. let the guy have his peace and fun!
