I have seen all sorts of things saying that your/our privacy is protected on Facebook, Twitter, etc. but I wonder how private it is when others can tell exactly where you are from, at least the city, when you are on a website.

Yesterday, I was on a fishing site from Michigan and there was a place that offered to tell how the fishing was "in your area." I clicked on it, expecting to get reports for Michigan lakes and instead got reports for Nolin, Barron, Rough and Green. Just a little while ago I was on the Michigan Department of Natural Resources site and there was an ad for "whiter teeth" with a secret discovered by a "Radcliff mother". It must be a small world that the Radclff mother and I both live in the same city.

If they can find out what city I live it, I wonder how much other information they can get just by looking around the web and where I visit.
