I've got a friend that fishes from a pontoon. He fishes elkhorn and other creeks. It's great for small bodies of water but I wouldn't want to have to paddle it 4-5 miles in a lake. From what I've seen the downside of it is that your feet are in the water and installing a fish finder, rod holders, ect can be difficult.
I have a Perception Kingfish kayak, it's 12 feet and holds 350 lbs. My kayak has all the storage space you could want. On a normal trip I take rain gear and extra clothes in a dry bag. A cooler with drinks and food a full tackle bag and 4 rods. I also have a fish finder and 4 rod holders on there. If you are looking for a fishing kayak you want a sit on top. Do a search on here for kayak and you'll get a bunch of suggestions. Also check out kayakbassfishing.com, it's a great site wtih alot of info.
