To me, they are at work and I wouldnt bother them while there working. I got respect for those guys that can put food on the table and provide a good life for there family doing something they love. I wish I was good enough to do what they do. Just my thoughts.
I think it will take close to 100Lbs to win over 4 days. Hide and watch!! These guys are good and sandbag alot during practice.
I can tell you the fish are bunched up right now. we caught 250 bass in two days last week on 2 spots. They are going to catch them good. If I can catch a 24 lbs bag they sure can. Also caught a 50 lbs cat. I had a guy watch me catch a 7 and then come mark my spot. That's ok for me but stay away from these guys trying to make a living. Unless you are a guide and those are your spots it is disrespectful to do what these people are doing.
Well once a year lol,Paris Landing has major tournaments every month, often every week, wrapped boats with something.com are common place. And other than some finding ledges on maps how do you think they found them by spotting someone parked and fishing.Yes many follow them around like someone said part of the fame or game, not all of us do.I never have,as for cutting in on others it goes both ways have even had a crappie fisherman tie to the tree I was flipping,so all have their share of a holes.
Some however due to you not fishing a T would sort of crowd you,now T orgs have it in the rules not even a non contestant can they crowd.
So the sport is constantly evolving, larger bigger boats.larger motors ,larger purses, larger weights. The only thing thats stayed the same is my ss benefit(am retired),due to no increase in the economy.
Moved to buchanan,tn lil over 2 years ago 6 min from the ramp at paris landing, lovin every min of it.
Same here to an extent. I'm just a weekend warrior so it's not critical I catch fish when I go but if another angler gets sideways with me regardless of who they are and doesn't show respect then I can put the redneck on pretty quick.
Been to a classic and mega bucks tourny and I didn't even get on the water during their practice or during the tourny. I didn't want to get in their way.....to me it's just about respect. It's public water and people have the right to fish when the pros do it's just not my cup of tea.
If I'm on a spot and someone gets to close I'll sit tight and act like I'm detangling a bird nest or go take a swallow of water to kill some time so they'll go around me and not know I'm on something. The birdnest thing works especially good on points because no one will cast close to you. Whatever you do don't use marker buoys if there's a lot of boats around. I don't feel bad for KVD either, that's part of the price of fame.
Funny thing is..I have a fake looking Bass... I tie it on sometimes and let it sink down a ways and then when being watched intently by someone. I set the hook and real it in..in a big fight that i just delay for appeal i guess to teh one watching. ONce I net the fake fish..i make a scene about it and then put it in my live well......
Onlooker gets close and then asks wat i caught it on...I tell them the weirdest bait i have.....It's funny as hell......![]()
