I have had a seat in the boat to see it first hand.
I don't understand your point and excuse me for getting involved in something that might not be my business.

You basically accuse this person of lying and when he responds with data showing he was not lying you change to the old "I KNOW IT ALL AND YOU DON'T KNOW SQUAT" approach.

The waterways these guys fished a few years ago were on small lakes that had little if any pressure. I don't know and don't care if they were closed to the public but the point this other poster was tyring to make was the KVD was really tough to beat when they were fishing these smaller lakes.

When someone starts pushing themselves as masters of the universe and downgrades others opinions as meaningless really irks me.

As for BASS closing fishing waters we all know this but they can get public waters closed without much effort.

I think it's not really an issue of pros, guides, recreational. It's just an issue of respecting other people's space when they are in it. When they're not in that space, it's yours if you choose to occupy it.

That being said, the whole "this is their job", "this is how they feed their families", etc., argument doesn't hold up for me. The fact is, they CHOSE this job.

Think of it this way, my job would be a whole lot easier if everyone I came in contact with during the day got out of my way (literally and figuratively) and bent over backwards to make sure I could be successful.

Life doesn't work that way, and I don't think people need to treat the pros any differently than they would treat anyone else on the water - which means, with respect. If you choose to treat them differently, that is your choice, but don't look down on others who choose not to.

Your first line says it all....it is none of your business and the poster and myself talked it out through via pm's to keep it off this board. As for BASS getting public waters closed, not going to happen. The lake in question is about 1500 acres and is restricted access anyway, the city of Greensboro closed it during that tourney. I just go off the water watching KVD and Timmy Horton fish and I can tell you that if BASS went to ask for this lake to be shut down they would be laughed out of the area.

Lot's of things irk me as well, people sticking their nose where it doesn't belong is one of them!

The last time I CHECKED this was a PUBLIC FORUM and the moderators, which you are not one if I am not mistaken, decides if the content was offensive. I stated my opinion as as usual you have to try to make a mountain out of mole hill.

Nobody said anything about closing a body of water like Kentucky Lake. What the other poster and myself said is that a few years back BASS picked small lakes to hold these type of events and at that type venue KVD is tough to beat. Nothing else.

Geez man, take a valium or something and come down off your perch.

Smile Re: Elite's on Kentucky Lake

This thread reminds me of a funny story that happened on Barkley one Saturday morning.

A buddy and I arrived at a pretty good bass spot one Friday night in LBL, that is right next to a boat ramp. I launched the boat, tied it off to a tree, and camped for the night on the shore, ready to fish in the morning.

Before daylight, we got into the boat and trolled over to the spot, and started catching bass after bass, just having a big time. MAN was it great. We see this dude in some hopped-up bass boat come flying into this cove we are in, and he isn't letting up. We were in the very back of the cove, next to the ramp, and this dude runs full-tilt to where we are, and lets off the throttle just before he reaches us.

He throws his trolling motor down, and begins beating the bank with a buzz bait not 30 yards from us. I look at my buddy, schrug my shoulders, and keep on fishing. We both hook nice bass within minutes, release them into the live well, and turn around and repeat the process a couple of times.

This guy is now throwing rods down, slamming compartment doors, and trying to tie on a different bait. This tool trolls all around us, and somehow never managed to catch a fish. We tried to talk to him, but he was so steamed, he would just act like he didn't hear us. He finally gave up, started his 250hp motor, and SCREAMED out of the cove. Funny thing is, he hit the old road bed with his lower unit on the way out. It made some god-aweful noise, but the guy never even flinched. He just kept that throttle pinned and away he went.

We ended up catching our limit pretty easy that day, and got a pretty funny story to boot!

    Re: Elite's on Kentucky Lake

I'll just throw this out and shut up, I saw Vandam on at least 3 different spots Sat. during the finals, that said NONE of them were magical spots he had spent hours searching for with electronics, side imaging etc.... They were all spots or ledges that were commuinty holes pretty basic stuff that stands out like a sore thumb on a topo as were alot of other wrapped boats I saw last week, really makes me wonder when thet say I went to my best spot and somebody was sitting on it blah blah blah .....well yeah they do every weekend.
And as far as the poster(cant remember who) who said he doubts boats actually come that close to whoever(fishing non pro) while on the water I take it you dont fish Ky lake very much because they will idle within 10 yards of you while fishing a ledge,I've had it happen numerous times and it's gotten alot worse in the last 2 years.
