Stood on the dock this morning and scanned the boats as they came thru for boat check. Most every angler had at least 3 rods set up with crankbaits. Most seen brand was the Bomber FF Shad. Most were in Citrus Shad or Blue/Chartreuse, some of those with orange belly. Saw a couple of Rapala DT's (same colors). Got a really good look at Edwin Evers boat as he tied off right below me. Four rods rigged with cranks, one with a jig, one worm, one spoon. The spoon, jig and worm rods were Carbonlites. Couldn't make out the names on his crankin rigs. He had not one or two, but FOUR Lowrance HDS units on his boat, two at the console and two in front. He also had the best looking rig of the whole bunch. You could literally eat off his carpeting. Loved the layout of that boat and would love to have one. Some of those boats looked like they'd been thru D-Day! Kind of surprised me, but then I imagine they do take a beating. Really wanted a good closeup photo of KVD, but he stayed in the middle of the marina until called for his boat check. As he was first out, he went right to the head of the line, said a few words in the mike, and he was out of there. Had a cameraman in the boat along with his marshall and a cell phone in his ear. GO KVD!!!!
