A little wierd..yes. But I kind of like it. Something different than the same venues they go to every year. Kentucky lake and G-ville was getting a little old. I like the fact that they're going to West Point lake and Toledo Bend. They haven't been there for years. I just wish they would get rid of the Toho tournament and throw in lake Eufala or something like that.
yeah definite bonus on hittin toledo bend... do the elites ever do lake meade?
Cheaper for ESPN to not take equipment very far from tournament to tournament. Too bad, I like seeing the pros fish lakes out west and up north. Something different.
I do not like the schedule a whole lot, but I guess they are trying to visit some different fisheries, or places they haven't been to in a while. I find it funny that rhw FLW Tour didn't go to Kentucky Lake this year considering there headquarters are there.
They are going to pickwick, thats as far north as Guntersville...
But you are right... seems to me they should fish some more out west and up north. They have done it in the past, but it seems pretty limited as they wont be fishing any extremely clear lakes or cold deep water lakes... its all down south fishin...
Flw seems more "west friendly" as they have a big series out there. Bass is primarly southern US orentatied, Flw also has a bigger following up north than Bass, Bass does have the northern opens, but my guess is that the Elites cost a lot to put on and they they need to stick to the bigger fan base that the south has to offer. West point was where the BASS FED NATION held the southern div this past spring. They did good at mixing it up I think for next season, they do over do Fla some what. like to have seen them go back to SAntee Cooper, and would love to see them come to Lake Cumberland sometime. I agree that it is funny that FLW did not go to Ky also.
Any place that several different patterns can be used to win is fine by me. As long as everybody isn't doing the exact same thing or fishing the same type of spots I am fine with. I also like it when they are someplace that allows them to use the locks to move from pool to pool. That way they have to weigh the potential gain vs. loss of needing to lock through and back.
They go where they get the best money deals...has nothing to do with how good a fishery is or where it is at. FLW has a history of only having the FLW Tour here every other year. The American Series is here every year on Ky Lake.
Now there's a thought. They should schedule a March or April tournament at lake Cumberland.Flw seems more "west friendly" as they have a big series out there.
