Simpson Lake...Whose fished it?

Was flying over Bardstown today and got to wondering if Simpson is any good for fishin...anyone know?

Yes i have fished it. But first off you have got to get a permit from bardstown city hall to fish it. I think its fairly expensive if your out of county. Im thinking around 50-75 dollars but not positive. As far as the fishing goes if you fish it this time of year you only want to fish it early or late because it is a pleasure boat lake. Skiiing/tubing/jetskis--i have had my best luck at night there. I fish it with my wifes cousin which is a resident of bardstown so i dont have to buy a permit. There are a lot of bluegill in there and its hard to get past them to get to the bass. You will get a lot of bluegill bites while bass fishing. There are some nice bass in there. My personal best is 4 lb. My wifes cousin usually catchs a few 6 lb. Bass out of there in a years time. Well thats all the info i got for ya now--later jc
