    Re: Motor Electricals

I've got 2 batteries on it. One is about 2 years old and at first I thought it was bad so I went out and bought a 2nd one. I had the idea that I'd run the motor off one and the radio off the weaker battery (no trolling motor), not caring if it died altogether. Now I don't think my original battery is dead at all. I was able to start the boat at times on either battery and at times only one but not the other. I also initially thought it was maybe a starter or solenoid issue but I've been able to rule them out and now I think the issue is somewhere else in the electrical system. I just don't know where to start.

twise, thanks for the PM. I'll give them a call.

start at the source. Making sure the battery is a good battery trace down your leads starting at the battery to your fuse block. Looking for a loose connection, corrosion and discolored wiring due to the heat build up from a looose connection. Pay close attention to your ground as it is over looked as being the culprit quite often. have also seen wires pull apart inside the insulation invisable to the eye and only detected through a meter.
