Is there anywhere within 10 miles or so, that a poor guy could put a camper. Preferably on the lake. I'm already learning that's probably not gonna happen. Too high for me

need electricity and water
You talking just for the weekend or extended stay? I'm sure there are plenty of places, but spots by the lake may be scarce.
The cheapest route is the Backcountry Camping in LBL - campgrounds with limited amenities. The campsites are great and will accommodate RVs, and your best shot at being on the water. I've always liked Smith Bay on KY, and Taylor Bay on Barkley.

Some others you might look into:
KOA in Calvert City:

Hillman Ferry:

extended stay, preferably all year if possible for deer hunting and fishing. All I've seen so far is hillman ferry a very nice place but it's 2400 and up. If I did that I would be single and paying child support so that is probably out.
Here's several more I thought of:
Birmingham Point Campground
5295 Barge Island Rd, Benton, KY 42025
(270) 354-8482
King Creek
(currently has two spots)

Your worried about spending 2400 to camp for a year? If I was gone that long the 2400 would be the least of my worries.
