What is "Something?"

I ate something last night.
I saw something I couldn't believe.
I'm going to do something about it.
He said something about fishing.
I smell something.
You did something naughty.
I read something I didn't understand.

Please feel free to add something to this list and tell me WHAT "something" really is.

This POTUS we have is "something else"...don't know what it is but it's worse than the stuff I scraped off my shoe.

Usually followed by one of dad's tirades about how I was going to behave. Sometimes after said lecture, it was followed by a belt. Biggest lie ever told by parents is "This is gonna hurt me more than it does you!" That is really something.
