Ive actually had a crappie fisherman come in and tie up to the tree I was fishing, yes was fishing a T.
But not normally bad on Ky lake by other T fishermen, and seems worse up north in the small amount of the lake thats actually in Ky.
Most from what ive seen is from recreational crappie and bream fishermen,as for fishing ledges we dont own them, but once on them about 50 yards should be respected.
Once in a T last year we had a stretch of bank that was producing well as we turned to go back down it another boat edged in where we had stopped at and slowly followed us in to our honey hole behind us,then once in the hot spot never ever moved back out of it,catching one 4 plus kicker,it happens. He did it legal but still smelled,he knew it was the hot spot, had watched us go back and forth a few times, then eliminated our best section. We were frogging ,he sat and wormed and never moved out of it once in.I did throw a bully wa 85 at him and he was 50 yards away hit within 15 ft of him in the front ,he got the message. But its one of the few times a T fisherman did squeeze in ( and he did it legally) just could see it coming, hugging that 50 yard length and following us in then holding still.
You just can't fix stupid.
i tell people that get too close to leave. if they dont i tell them if they dont i will make sure they dont catch another fish the rest of the day. i drive around them in circles till the get the message with the motor trimmed way up so my ranger throws a three foot wave. i live on barkley so i can come back the next day. if everyone would do that maybe it would get around that if you fish too close you will get the barkley circle dance thrown up on you for the rest of the day, LETS UNITE AND PUT AN END TO THESE RUDE PEOPLE. JOIN ME IN PUTIN THE BARKLEY CIRCLE DANCE ON EM AND MAYBE IT WILL SPREAD TO OTHER LAKES NATIONWIDE!!!!!
I'm in. Where do I sign up?
lets do it here people can sign up on this thread. just take a pic with your phone while they have a look on their face like they are going to capsize and post it here. few hundred pics will get it movin nicely.
If you can hit them with a paint gun then hit them with a paint gun is what I say.
I use my Tater Gun! LOL
They're all over..everywhere!
Get too close and I will guarantee you will not catch another fish and you'll be too busy trying to hang onto your rod as it's leaving your boat from me intentionally dragging my crankbait across your lines.
I also use a loud airhorn as you cast that will lesson your chances of concentration!
If you want to an ass...go ahead!
It all comes down to respect..which most don't even know the meaning of the word.
While I think it would be friggin' hilarious to tag a few fools up with some of those old hot pink Nelsons, and if I didn't love paintball so much, and it wasn't technically assault, or maybe I wasn't leaving such an obvious trail for the law to follow I would go that route. Last spring me and my Pop and brothers where at KY Lake crappie fishin' on the inside edge of a main lake point. We anchored off it about 65-70' as not to scare the fish sitting there in 5-10' of water but close enough I could still cast a 1/32 jig to about 5' off the bank. Some duesche bag flies in behind us throwing up about a three foot wake into the back side of the boat. OK fine, maybe he is fishing a tourney and is trying to save time, maybe he has money on the line I thought. Then he drove his 18" Ranger in between not just us and the bank, but one of our buddies fishing a stake bed a bit farther down the bank into the cove. He went right over the steak bead with his trolling motor going so hard it was kicking up mud then right in between us and the bank, right exactly where we had been connecting with the fish! I asked him, "What the Hell man?" He flipped ME off! I called him every name under sun and tried to snag him, but my jig didn't quite catch anything on deck before he got out range of my ultralight. By that time my other brother who was with a family friend (the ones down the bank they had run through first), had maneuvered to cut him off from reaching the end of the point, which made him have to stop to and maneuver his boat to get out, and started fishing it. The best part was just before he got out of sight Shane caught a 5 1/2 lb. smallie with a little crappie jig. The look of disgust on that face before he sped off was almost as satisfying as punching him in the face would have been. Next time, I am definitely going to lay the Barkley Circle Dance down hard laughing maniacally like a psychotic coyote with rabies until they fall out of the boat or move on!
