wondering how the bass are biting with the hot water
I fished Sat. from daylight to 2pm. and had about 5lbs. I fished a jig on points, and if I had it to do over I would have thrown a crankbait on points. I saw small jumps all morning that I thought were hybrids until a jump surfaced near enough to cast to and I had a LM smack my bait at the boat.
I was told by a Fish and Wildlife gentleman once that there are a lot of Big Largelouth laying under the Hybrid and Whitebass jumps. They hang out underneath and gobble up the remains of the baitfish that were injured during the jump. He said that you can throw a spinner bait way over the jump and let it sink to the bottom and just slow crank and bump the bottom for Largemouth. Never tried it but kinda makes sense.
