In the name of "Freedom of Religion" I don't know of any legal action you can take. The city of New York could implement a zoning code that forbids houses of worship to be built at or near Ground Zero. You can send a letter or email to ALL the Senators you know and to the President stating your opposition and warning them that, if a mosque is planned or built at Ground Zero, you will vote against them in the next election.

They might have a problem with Baghdad Baptist Infidels. lol

This is a very interesting article and I believe this is the beginning of Muslim mosques and communities throughout the United States. There are many that have been operating, un-noticed, for at least 12 years and the FBI has only recently become slightly curious about their activities.

I think any Christian church built in Bagdad would be bombed by Muslim terrorists. So maybe that will happen to the Mosque near ground zero? If it is built maybe someone will bomb it? I hear payback is a b1tch!!

I like the way that sounds Margie! Payback can hurt!!! I don't care about being politically correct on this. There are so many things that could be built there and something like this is a slap in the face. I am getting sick and tired of being told to accept someone elses way or learning to find a way to accept them or try and understand how they feel junk. What about the families who lost loved ones? Doesn't that count? Why should they get reminded of the tragic day over and over by seeing this actually happen.
If the Muslim community would have been vocal and very outspoken on extreme Muslim terrorists actions then I would have a glimmer of trust with them. They didn't condemn and I don't trust.

Re: Do we REALLY need a Mosque at ground ZERO??

Thanks Don, I quit being politically correct years ago cuz I felt it interfered with my freedom of speech, freedom to say what is on my mind. I wonder if Muslims believe in karma and that expression "What goes around, comes around" cuz that day will come when they have to answer for Sept. 11th 2001.

I too was very frustrated by the law abiding religious Muslim community and religous leaders who did not condemn the terrorists for their actions. I think as a people, as a culture that they should have been way more vocal about this. I really didnt understand it back then. But learning more about the Muslim culture and religion I now see why.

Well, them finding the remnants of a 18th century wooden boat at the Ground Zero site will give them PLENTY of ammunition to stop whatever may be built there. I think some groups could stop anything, if they had the "will" to get it stopped. Hell they've stopped a bridge in Louisville for 20 years based on BS stuff, including a 2 year Indian dig on the Indiana side, that provided exactly NOTHING.

So, if the powers that be want to stop the mosque, they could call the site a historic site, shut it ALL down for development and be done with it.

BUT then they may have trouble building a respectable ground zero memorial.

    HM........

    Later,
