Just downloaded the trial version of Tether.com.
It allows you to use your cell phone as a modem to connect to the internet.
Not too bad on the speed.
I have a blackberry 8330 and use sprint. It uses the unlimited data plan I already have which is common place these days so it costs nothing extra as long as you don't get crazy with it.
I'm at the lake right now and it definately works good enough. They say it works with all carriers.

50 bucks one time charge and definately worth it if you need acess to get away. There is a free trial version.

If you use MS outlook there could be some issues on sending mail. Changing the outgoing port in outlook from 25 to 587 made it work for me.
