I fish it pretty regularly, out of Cox's Park. Actually have a little fun tournament every other week on Wed. from 6-9:30, $20 winner take all. Just to let you know how the fishing has been lately, it's only took 1 or 2 fish to win. This year has been tough in the fact that the fish just haven't stacked up on the main river yet - the water has stayed pretty well muddy for most of the year and the current has been fairly strong...it's had a negative impact on the submerged grass that normally forms along the banks, so much so that I'm seeing only about 50% of what I normally do for this time of year. Last year it was nothing to go out there and pick up a quick limit out of the grass in a couple of hours or less. So far this year has been all about the creeks.

Fishing the river is a whole lot different than fishing a lake. The conditions/current are always changing, so it's a lot of being on the right spot at the right time. As for lures, I've had the same 4 or 5 baits tied on all year, and have had continual success with them.

It's a lot of fun and if you haven't been out there yet, you're really missing out.
