go down in pitch, to get a better hole shot. for every number you drop in pitch, you will gain 200 rpm's. if you go to low in prop pitch, your boat will jump up on plane, but it will over wind your engine at wide open throttle. I put a lower pitch prop on my boat, for staying on plane at a slower speed at night. and as soon as I get on plan, I have to back off the throttle. hope this helps.
