Blue catfish have never been stocked in the lake - I've verified with the biologist in charge of lake cumberland. If there were blue cats in the lake the striper guys would catch them all the time and they'd average well over 10 lbs. Blue cats act more like striper than channel cats and they grow very quickly. Just want to clear the air. Now the lake does have some nice flatheads in it no doubt.
the KDFWR did not stock Laurel River Lake, with Northern Pike. but they are in their. Derek Cowden caught the state record Northern pike from the waters of laurel lake on 10/29/2006.
