Sounds like you had a successful trip nonetheless....and put some food in your freezer.

When I went last month, the water temperature was 88. I guess the rain lately has kept it a bit below that. They seemed to fight pretty hard then, though.

Very good advice. I don't fish for stripers in the summer. I had the chance to go a couple of Sept. ago with some friends but chose not to. I was told that fish were easy to catch but when the fish came to the boat they were already dead.
