    Catfish question

My question is about the thermocline..... Will you catch catfish or any fish for that matter below the thermocline? For instance if the O2 level is next to zero at 15' and you are fishing in 25' of water would you aim for 10-15' when fishing for catfish? Just something I was wondering about since its so hot outside! Any INFO?

    Thanks

Best to fish with your bait 2-3 feet above the thermocline. But see this article, cause they do a better job explaining it than I would.

The only fish I have caught below the thermocline were walleye. Not sure why they were there.

Cuz they're not smart enough to move up in the water column to find oxygen?.....look at the massive walleye kill they had a cumberland last year when the oxygen level got low

I didn't know about the large walleye kill, I catch a few every spring. but this spring, I had the best year for walleye. I've ever had. I thought the walleye in cumberland were doing great.
