I don't drink and boat. Reread my post. I drink and let a DD drive. No different than going to a bar or Applebee's for a few cold ones and letting a DD drive home. Yes, it is illegal to drink in public, whether it be on the water, standing in your frontyard, or sitting at a patio bar in a public place. If you ever go on Barkley Lake, the outdoor bar there at Buzzard Rock Marina is in view of the public, and police could easily bust people for drinking in public...but you know what? They serve beer in cups because of this. Could police bust people? Sure! Will they? No, because efforts are made to keep it out of public view. This is why if you do choose to drink in public, put it in a cup! I have no sympathy for those that blatantly display their Bud Light can while on the lake.......that's just dumb, and asking for an inspection, because if you're dumb enough to do that, then you're just dumb enough to get behind the wheel, or man the tiller handle.

As for your comment "THANK a CO the next time you see one. They are the reason we have fish to catch!" - that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The COs should be thanking us - if we didn't choose to fish or buy boats, they wouldn't have a paycheck or a job. They work for us, not the other way around.

What the.....kind of language is this?!! It's not "cute," it's not English, and it is not ebonics. How is it possible that you can spell 'frustrating' but are unable to spell simple words like 'the, that, you're, and, with?'

I'm sorry but people who deliberately slay the English language really get under my skin.

I don't have a problem with getting stopped and checked. But if anyone else was at Taylorsville Sunday you know you would have been wishing Water patrol was out in full force. Van Buren area is a no ski zone. They need to put that in the paper or on TV or something. I say this not because I really care for myself but these guys were just plain dangerous. I wish someone was there to write a ticket because I was scared for them. Matter of fact they shoudl have been kicked off the lake. Worse example was I was coming in for the day headed toward the ramp and I saw this big boat just do a 180 just outside the idle zone at Van Buren. I was like wow wonder what happened to that guy then the closer I got I saw a kid on a wake board. They were still at the first point on the left if you are coming out of the idle zone. I wanted to go over there and tell them they were going to kill someone.

    Re: water patrol harassing fisherman

what i hate is when they come to check me during the first two hours in the morning or the last two hours in the evening or during a tournament. i am fishing a new 21 foot ranger and they stop me to see if i got a 20 dollar license. pretty retarded. they should let me direct their inspections one day and i guarantee i could get their revenue stream up ten fold and almost every boat they stop would be written a ticket for something. i actually saw a warden ask a guy from illinois for his license on kentucky lake last month when he was fishin off the dock and the guy said i dont have a license and the warden told him to go home and did not write him a ticket. i started to make a citizens arrest right in front of the warden but he looked to dumb to know what that means.
