    Dix River

We hit Dix River this morning and it was foggy and it must have been foggy under the water too cause they had a hard time finding our baits!

Did you go up to the tailwaters of Herrington? I'm thinking of making that trip in about 2 weeks. I assume you didn't catch anything?

Yeah we did the trip up to the dam. We walked the Yaks just about 100 ft around the white water and then put them in. It was still swift but alot easier than walking on those rocks. BTW...dont wear flip flops those rocks are hell in those!!
We did catch a few but nothing to get excited about. Fished for bass on the way back and never caught one.

Man I'm loving the new seat I put in. The trip was cool and my back was comfortable the whole time.

Lol no doubt! It's about time Andrew gets a straw hat and overalls..LOL!

Yakkin is fun...Its quick and easy to load and unload...I like that! Plus I love the excersize. That trip to the Dam can put your arms through a workout if you aproach it that way.

I live very close to there and have two kayaks. Drop me a line if you need some company on a trip. I've only done it once and didn't catch any trout.

My cousin from Minnesota is coming down in two weeks. He's really into fishing and hunting. He fly fishes a lot. We're going on a guided striper trip because that would be new for him, but the other day I'm torn between paddling up the Dix and letting him fly fish or taking a trip down the Elkhorn over the CanoeKy runs.

    Re: Dix River

We saw a few folks set up with fly rods there. They stayed right there at the big pool past the white water since they came up in a big boat and had to beach it.
Yeah man next time we or I head that way I'll give you a shout. I have been up there and done well before but this time it was pretty sorry. A few of the people we saw said the same thing. I did have a few follow my spinner in but they were skittish....all we got was a little 11 inch rainbow.
I was amazed at the people there! I saw 10-12 other anglers there plus us....seems like a lot of pressure.

Dang, I was enjoying the fishing reports....but I think we've went into "Too Much Information" mode. LMAO

Don - I really like that rod holder on your kayak. Very nice.
