Yakkin is fun...Its quick and easy to load and unload...I like that! Plus I love the excersize. That trip to the Dam can put your arms through a workout if you aproach it that way.
I live very close to there and have two kayaks. Drop me a line if you need some company on a trip. I've only done it once and didn't catch any trout.

My cousin from Minnesota is coming down in two weeks. He's really into fishing and hunting. He fly fishes a lot. We're going on a guided striper trip because that would be new for him, but the other day I'm torn between paddling up the Dix and letting him fly fish or taking a trip down the Elkhorn over the CanoeKy runs.

We saw a few folks set up with fly rods there. They stayed right there at the big pool past the white water since they came up in a big boat and had to beach it.
Yeah man next time we or I head that way I'll give you a shout. I have been up there and done well before but this time it was pretty sorry. A few of the people we saw said the same thing. I did have a few follow my spinner in but they were skittish....all we got was a little 11 inch rainbow.
I was amazed at the people there! I saw 10-12 other anglers there plus us....seems like a lot of pressure.
