    Re: Brett Favre retires (again)

I am with Tim T on this. He may be the best QB of teh 90's but that is where it ends... Marino, Bradshaw, Young, Montana, Elway, Simms, Manning, P. ... all better than Favre..

I haven't researched this but how many records does Favre hold as a QB? If so doesn't that account for something? Personal opinions can vary as they should, but stats should be worth something.

Most Completions and MOST INTERCEPTIONS! Also most consecutive starts, which accounts for most completions and int's. I belive he also holds the record for most attempts. All those numbers hold very little relevance though.

I wouldn't rank him in the top 10 QB's of all time. There are just too many that have done more with less.

IMO he is the most overrated signal caller to ever strap on a helmet!
Well Tim T....everyone has an opinion...but you way of base about Elway, Marion, Manning,..Brees..well we will see how he does over the nest few seasons before we can even throw him into the same staus as Favre. If you had to pick any of these QB's...when they were in their prime...Favre would be No. 1 for me...and not even close.

-NFL's MVP 3 times! (non of your's mentioned even comes close)
-11 Pro Bowls -Most passing TD's
-3 x first team All Pro -Most passing yards
-5 x NFC Player of the year -Most completions
-Super Bowl Champ. (xxxl).. -Most games with 1 passing TD (241)
-1990 QB All-Decade Team -Most games with 2 passing TD (157)
-Most consecutive starts as QB -Most games with 3 passing TD (71)
-Most career reg. season vics -Most games with 4 passing TD (23)
-Most wins by a QB in one stadium -Most games with at least 200 yds passing
-2nd with 300yds passing (61)...Marion has 63 (will break this one this year)!
-has completed a 99 yeard pass for a TD (only 11 QB's have ever done this).
-Most TD's over 80yds passing -Most over 90yrds
-Most TD's over 20yds passing -Most 1 yrd passing TD (37)
-Most completions in one game (24)...Manning 2nd with 18
    -Most games with 20 completions (185)...Manning 2nd with 138
-Most seasons with at least 20 TDs passing (15)
-Most seasons with at least 30 TD's passing (9)..also most seasons with CONSECUTIVE seasons with over 30 TD's...(5)!
-Most seasons with at least 35 TD passing (3)
-Most seasons with more than 3000 yds passing (18)...may never be broken!!!!
-Most seasons with over 300 completions (18)
-2nd with the most consecutive games with a TD pass (36)...Johnny Unitas 1st with (47)
    -Most playoff pass completions
    -Most playoff passing yeards
-2nd with most playoff passing TD's (44)...Montana (45)...another that will drop this year.

And these are just about half of his Career achievments Tim T. So before you make a comment about somebody not able to hold somebodys jock...you ought to think before you speek!!!!

    Re: Brett Favre retires (again)

Most interceptions, did you include that one. I am glad he is back, those 20 interceptions were sure not going to throw themselves. You can post all the stats you want, he played more games than anybody, threw more passes than anybody, of course he is going to hold a bunch of individual records. Bottom line is he chokes at crunch time a bunch. he is not even in the same class as Elway or Montana and doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath. He is the ultimate "ME" player, he is a drama queen and attention *****. Brett Favre's bigges fan is...you guessed it BRETT FAVRE.

Also, before you try and act superior and talk down to someone, you might want to think before you type the word SPEAK!

    Re: Brett Favre retires (again)

Not trying to be superior Tim T...it's just when you made the statement that Brett couldn't carry some of these "wannabies" jocks that you listed....you was just so far off base with that statment;...I had to STAND UP up for the best player that ever played the QB position. Brett will make up for the happenings with the Vikings misfortunes as of late...(ie. losing his No. 1 WR, Rice for the next 6 or 7 games). Once again Brett will shut-up all critics for at least for a night! He will have over 250 yards passing and at least 2 passing TD's! Vikings 27 - Saints-24
