Dix river

Anybody been? Thinking of taking the armada up on Sunday.

Fished from Sat.- 6:00pm to Sun.- 10:00am. Fishing was slow. I agree the river has changed, still, I did'nt leave dissapointed. Pressure and traffic on the water was crazy this weekend. The dust did'nt settle 'till about 11:00pm. Caught fish between 4 and 6am., then nothing. Coming out we counted more than 20 people going in. Kayaks, canoes, bass boats, you name it, all loaded for bear. I felt bad for these folks knowing they had traveled a long way just to recieve a proper skunking in the hot sun. These conditions are mostly responsible for the quality of the fishing on the Dix these days.

Thanks for the report, I saw you guys, I was the one that asked if you guys had camped up there and me and the guy in the Alumicraft complimented each other's canoe choice... We did pretty good caught several on the fly and the boys got some cold water swim time in so we came out pretty good.

Had a guy tell me that from the riffle up to the dam was catch and release.
I've heard alot of stories up there but that was a good one. Funny that he came up and said that right as I landed a nice brown while he and his Orvis buddies were fishless.

Lets go! I'm always up for a canoe/kayaking trip. As long as it isn't a deer hunting weekend I'm game. I might have to break out the 8 weight for hybrids. I was using my 4 weight yesterday, had one trout pull a little drag which is a good thing. Ted

We fished up there Saturdayp (3 of us in yaks) as well and caught a few trout, small bass and a hybrid. We saw several other yaks and a few boats. It was a nice day on the river.
