Went for a couple of hours this morning. Maybe saw 6 other boats the whole time. Caught one fish on a jig, but it was a 24" largemouth. She was an animal. Took no pics and didn't weigh her because the water was warm and she was stressed so I put her back in and after a minute, she took off, she was heavy I know that, could have put a softball in her mouth. Largest largemouth I have caught in KY this year. As much as I wanted to take her home and put her on the wall, I am glad I put her back.

I'm with " rustedhook " ! I dont know for sure but with some of the pictures of Cedar Creek bass I see on other sites ,it dont look like they go back in the water .
Great job releasing that fish! I'm sorry you didn't get a picture though.
Oh they don't. Makes me sick too. I was pulling my boat this past spring and there was an aluminum deckboat pulling out that had at least 20 or so bluegill, a catfish and a bass that easily went 7 pds, sitting on the front of the boat. I wanted to throw up. I asked the guys what they caught em on and they told me creek minnows. I try not to fish that place much if I can help it, because the place is littered with guys like that. I am just glad the KDFWR has the slot limit they do or the place would be wiped out.
Plenty of meathogs at Cedar, good job on the release and congratulations on the Pig.
Yep plenty of legal and illegal meathogs there. Great job on letting that one go but if you had chosen to keep it I would be fine with that as it's your legal right to do so.![]()

waht are some of your alls opinions on live bait at cedar creek. yes , shad are illegal to use and even possess on the lake ,but as far as creek minnows go , they are perfectly legal. am i stepping on anyones toes for using live bait there?
Heck if it's legal then you have every right to enjoy it without any concerns on what others think, at least thats how I look at it.
I have been fishing since I was old enough to hold a rod and reel and have used live and dead bait along with artificials all my life...it's fine.
Anyone who starts the live bait is cheating or it doesn't take any skill argument is way off IMO. Kids, older folks and anyone who wants to do it enjoys it so go for it. Legal fishing is legal fishing.![]()

I agree totally...if its legal then it doesn't matter what others think. I don't use live bait at Cedar or anywhere...but have no problem with others doing so...why would anyone if its legal?
BTW, I'm glad you released the toad...way to go on the catch!
