Had a fellow night before last bragging about his radar on his 32ft boat and how at night he drives by radar only, seemed cool till he told me he was on his way into Blood river and saw a blip but no lights and by the time he got close this John Boat was waving spotlights at him and he veered to miss their boat by about 30 ft, needless to say he said he had to have capsized the john boat because he was so close yet when I asked if he went back ...... (no answer, just a blank look in his face)
Lights, lights, lights...... another reason. Some people just drive at night by nothing but electronics and it scares the heck out of me. Trust me I love having GPS it keeps me out of bouys and running a ground, but God gave me two eyes to use in conjunction with it
I use a Lowrance Ifinder explorer with navionics chips stayed on Nolin in june up one of the river channels lot of deadheads made a trail on my gps to our cabin to miss all the deadheads when returning at night works great our fishing guide also let me mark some of his spots to use for the rest of week would not be without one specially if you have the lake maps
