    Harrods Creek

Anyone know how far from the mouth of the Ohio you can go up Harrods Creek? I was out there this past weekend only to hit some deadfall (downed trees blocking passage) less than a 1/4 mile from the US42/Bronsboro Rd bridge. I am considering taking a chain saw/axe out there to make it passable, just wondering if it would be worth my while.

well I do not fish the river, but trying to clear the logs and other debrie while standing on the boat is not safe. My wife's family has been to logging for for the paper mill there for more years than anyone can remember and a very ugly scar is a passage to manhood using a chanisaw while standing on a boat would scare me to death

I haven't been up the Harrods since about early June - back then I went about as far as I could go depth wise. Went a good ways past the big fancy house with the huge yard and the concrete chicken.

The fishing wasn't that great up there, nor has it ever been after the spawn.

I wouldn't mess with the log jam - the reward wouldn't be worth the effort. It'll be gone anyways come about March.

Plenty of fish on the main river right now anyways, with more and more starting to show up. Problem is that there's too dang many fry and the bass aren't wanting to play with the fake stuff.

I don't know that my 14 foot jon boat is stable enough for the main drag.

How far past 42 is this concrete chicken you speak of?

    About 1.1 miles.

I don't know who lives there, but he has a lot of awesome toys, and money! You can't miss the place - has a very tall fountain in the pond in his yard, some sort of lights that look like fireworks, the concrete chicken, a couple of out buildings, usually some construction equipment, and a boat dock/patio that looks to be made out of an old bridge. Plus, he must feed the deer in his area. They just hang out in his yard like pets. They aren't afraid of anything. Very strange.

I have Kayaked it a few times. I agree with "artcarney"; the fishing is just okay and the tree will be out of the way after the winter rains come through.

With or without a PADDLE makes a difference............... You Know! Me, I never wanted to be up a creek without a paddle.
